Every year VENI, the alumni association of Applied Physics, organises an lecture evening at the ‘Academisch Genootschap’. This year this evening will take place on Friday the 18th of October. The evening will start at 18:00 with a diner. After this diner Peter Koelman will talk about his atypical career path and the choices he made and how they worked out. Peter started as an engineer at Segula Technologies, but soon started a PhD research in Applied Physics at the TU/e. He currently works at ASML.
On the other hand Ralph Meulenbroeks will give a small theater performance, named “Talent voor Toeval”. He combined his conservatory study with a university study and a PhD in physics at the TU/e. He completed both studies cum laude. Ralph worked as a researcher at Shell, Océ and FOM. Since 2011 he has chosen to combine his musical activities with teaching in secondary education. Since 2015 he has been working as a university lecturer at Utrecht University.
