Executive Master of Actuarial Science (EMAS)
EMAS is a globally recognized programme and your gateway to excellent career prospects. The programme is aimed at individuals who are already professionally active at an academic level, and who are looking for ways to broaden and deepen their knowledge and skills set. EMAS is designed to be flexible, allowing you to balance your work and other commitments while you pursue your degree. Finally, after completing EMAS you can become a full member (AAG) of Koninklijk Actuarieel Genootschap (AG).
A new generation of actuaries
Successful enrolment in our programme is subject to a number of admission requirements. Some students having completed a strongly focused quantitative scientific bachelor’s or master’s education can be admitted directly to EMAS (BSc Actuarial Science, MSc EOR actuarial track). Koninklijk Acturarieel Genootschap
Formed in 1888, Koninklijk Actuarieel Genootschap (AG) aims to position the profession against relevant social issues. The association keeps track of developments and trends in the pension, insurance and healthcare industries as well as data science, risk management, sustainability and climate change.
We regard it as one of our objectives to communicate, inform and be available for our members, stakeholders, supervisory authorities, political institutions and the general public on actuarial matters. Where possible we take initiatives and look for opportunities for cooperation with other stakeholders.
You will come across actuarial professionals wherever financial risks play a role.
Essentially, actuarial professionals provide financial institutions, businesses and government bodies with the information needed to make well-considered decisions. They think out scenarios to identify, quantify and explain the risks involved and subsequently come up with solutions. Traditionally, actuarial professionals are employed within the insurance and pension industries, but the emergence of data has made it that pretty much any industry can benefit from bringing them on board.
If you really love maths and want a rewarding career where you can really make a difference, the actuarial profession is for you!
For students who study Actuarial Science, Econometrics or are engaged in a comparable study, such as Mathematics or Physics, we offer the possibility of a free student membership for the current year (from August to July). At the end of the year your membership is automatically terminated.
Do you want to know more about AG, our activities or more information about how to become an actuary? Please visit our website!

ETC
WORKING ON THE FUTURE OF CLEAN ENERGY
World leader in enrichment technology. That’s what we are called… and for good reason. At ETC Netherlands, we develop innovative energy solutions and centrifuges for uranium enrichment. This enriched uranium is used as fuel for nuclear power plants. As a result, we play a crucial role in reducing CO2 emissions. A special task in these challenging times!
Our expertise
We are an innovative high-tech company that provides safe and sustainable enrichment technology and energy solutions for the energy market worldwide. We not only design these solutions, but also develop and deliver them as well. Naturally tailored to the needs of the current and future market. Within the nuclear sector, we focus on the following two areas:
- Ultra-gas centrifuges
We produce ultra-gas centrifuges to enrich uranium in the most efficient way. This enriched uranium is used as fuel for nuclear energy production.
- Advanced high-tech solutions
We manufacture and develop all kinds of high-tech products and services. We do this for customers in aerospace, semiconductor and textiles, packaging & printing industries.
About the nuclear fuel cycle
Our technology plays a key role in the so-called ‘nuclear fuel cycle’: the process by which natural uranium is converted into a fuel for power generation in nuclear reactors. The actual enrichment of the
uranium is done by our customers Urenco and Orano and is the third step in the cycle below. We as ETC supply the technology behind enrichment.
How does uranium enrichment work?
ETC’s ultra-gas centrifuges are international leaders. Our customers use them to enrich the two most common isotopes of natural uranium to gradually separate them. It perhaps sounds complicated, but we are happy to take you through this process step by step.
- Uranium hexafluoride (UF6) is fed as a gas into a centrifuge running at high speed in a spinning vacuum.
- The centrifuge motor produces heat at the bottom of the centrifuge. The temperature in the centrifuge increases and intensifies the separation process.
- The heavier U-238 molecules are driven towards the wall of the centrifuge. The lighter U-235 molecules remain in the centre. This separates the enriched and depleted uranium gases.
- To achieve the desired degree of enrichment, centrifuges are connected in series. The centrifuges are also installed in parallel to achieve greater system capacity. These centrifuge systems installed in series and in parallel are called ‘cascades’.
- The enriched uranium moves from centrifuge to centrifuge. This process continues until it is suitable for use in nuclear power plant fuel rods.
Clean energy
At ETC, reducing CO2 emissions is very important to us. We work on it every day. In addition, we support our customers in their efforts to achieve a cleaner environment. For instance through using our technical knowledge and experience in R&D, engineering and production. Together we are working on the future of clean energy!

ASML
ASML is a high-tech company headquartered in the Netherlands. We manufacture complex lithography systems that chipmakers use to produce integrated circuits (microchips). Every day, you use electronics that our machines help make possible – in fact, we may be part of the device you’re using right now.
We’re a global team of over 44,000 people of 148 different nationalities and counting. Headquartered in Europe’s top tech hub, the Brainport Eindhoven region in the Netherlands, our operations are spread across Europe, Asia, and the US.
Changing the world, one nanometer at a time
In the past four decades, we’ve grown from a small startup into a multinational company with over 60 locations worldwide and annual net sales of €28.3 billion in 2024. Our customers include all of the world’s leading chipmakers like Intel, Samsung and TSMC. We provide them with everything they need – hardware, software and services – to mass produce patterns on silicon through lithography.
Through the development of smaller, faster and more energy efficient microchips, our world has evolved. At ASML, we believe that the semiconductor industry is in a unique position to help tackle some of society’s toughest challenges.
Extreme ultraviolet lithography
Working at the cutting-edge of technology ofers unique challenges, driving our teams to innovate across all felds and disciplines. Over 20 years of sustained R&D brought us the development of extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography. As the only supplier of this advanced lithography technology, our engineers are responsible for continuing to develop and perfect these complex systems.
One example of this complexity is how EUV light is generated. First, a 30-kilowatt laser fres at tin droplets 50,000 times per second, hitting each droplet twice. The laser vaporizes the tin droplets, creating a plasma hotter than the surface of the sun. This interaction emits EUV light at a wavelength of 13.5 nanometers. And all of this takes place in a vacuum-sealed system.
From patterning nanometer-sized structures on a microchip wafer to creating light using lasers and liquid metal, the work we do can be hard to wrap your head around.
Cutting-edge innovation
Behind ASML’s innovations are people who think ahead. Our researchers, engineers, scientists and manufacturing specialists, as well as our high-tech hardware and software experts, all work at the edge of what’s possible.
We invest around €4.3 billion per year on R&D, meaning our teams have the resources to experiment, test and push the boundaries of technology. They work in close-knit, multidisciplinary teams, listening to and learning from each other.
A sustainable future
We contribute to the advancement of technology, and we’re committed to helping develop a more sustainable future. Our strategic sustainability focus areas, including minimizing waste and maximizing resources and supporting corporate citizenship initiatives such as promoting technical education in the communities where we operate, form the foundation for how we conduct our business.
